About the Miniature Museum Amsterdam
Soon to open in the heart of Amsterdam is Miniature Museum Amsterdam, a new and attractive museum that tells the history of the city through beautiful miniatures. Visitors here will take a compact time travel through Amsterdam, from the Middle Ages to the present day.
We work with a small, enthusiastic team that together provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
About the position
As Floor Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the museum floor. You ensure that everything runs smoothly: visitors are welcomed hospitably, public employees know what needs to be done, and the museum runs like clockwork.
You are the first point of contact for both employees and visitors, easily switching between operational tasks and service-oriented situations.
In short, you ensure that every visitor experiences a pleasant and hassle-free visit.
What you will do
- Direct, induct and supervise public employees
- Oversee the daily planning, opening and closing of the museum
- Manage POS systems, ticket sales and visitor flow
- Identify and resolve operational and facility bottlenecks
- Ensuring a welcoming, safe and orderly museum floor
- Coordinate cleaning, engineering and security in collaboration with vendors
- Assist with events, tours and group visits
- Report to museum management on visitor numbers and operational matters
Who we are looking for
- You have experience in hospitality, retail or the cultural sector (e.g. as a floor manager, team leader or duty manager)
- You are stress-resistant, solution-oriented and service-oriented
- You can keep a good overview and set priorities
- You are communicatively strong and know how to motivate your team
- You have an affinity for culture, tourism or heritage
- You have a good command of Dutch and English in word and writing
- You are flexible, including weekends and vacations
